Colour Play

We have been working on a wide range of projects this month. Each home has a unique response to the site, the environment and the family brief, so it goes without saying that each colour and material palette should be tailored to suit as well.

The design process for site specific architecture is not based on prescribed formulas, but instead grows and evolves through collaboration and time until that 'eureka' moment arrives. That is why in the studio, on various surfaces, there is often a collection of objects, colours, textures that relate to different projects and the inspiration behind the design that we are working on. These random collections often inspire the colour palettes that are customised to the architecture and light.

Every so often a tidy up is required and so it's often a good chance to gather the disparate pieces together and record them before new project and ideas begin afresh.
