Materiality

Choosing materials for your home as a new home builder or renovator can be overwhelming. The 'Developed Design' stage is when we look at the specifics of the products that will be going into your home. We like to get very precise about the type of tap, the material for the benchtop, the type of lighting, the paint finish to the walls and how it ties in with your external finishes.

To be honest, not many Architects care to be involved in this stage. But to us the materiality and light within a space is crucial to the final experience and feeling of living within the architecture. This can be designed by an Architect who understands the overall vision for your home and integrated into the structural arrangements as much as possible. We can work with you to help you achieve your vision for your home and integrate the materials and finishes seamlessly into the architecture so it feels cohesive.

I have provided a simple tip in the video below for helping you narrow down the selections and swatches for your home, whether it be paint/colour, timber or different textures that stimulate the senses.
